With the cooler weather upon us I thought it would be fun to make a list of fall activities to do around Portland!

Go to a new coffee or tea house

I do not drink coffee but I love hot chocolate and herbal tea. There are tons of places in Portland that have these tasty beverages, try a new place out and you might find a new favorite go-to spot. A personal favorite a friend took me to is called Cacao and it is in downtown. Drinking chocolate? So good!

Get yourself to Powell’s

I love to read all year round. However there is something about reading inside while it is raining and cold outside. Perfect! I really enjoy going to Powell’s, you can spend as much or as little time there and you are bound to find a new book to read.

Plan for Thanksgiving

If you are hosting or if you are going as a guest I love planning what I will be making. I find that early planning ensures less stress for a big holiday gathering. I like websites like Pinterest for finding ideas and using it as my grown-up collage for inspiration. Cascade Chiropractic is even on Pinterest! It’s also easy to have all your ideas in one spot and you can refer back to that or print out the ideas/recipes well before the event.

Take a pie making class

Last year one of my friends and I went to Pacific Pie close to our office and had in depth class all about pie. It was super fun and now I am not scared of making pies anymore. Fall and winter is the perfect time to bake yummy desserts for get-togethers or loved ones.

Get old pictures printed out

Do you have tons of pictures on your phone or camera? Get them printed out! Switch out old pictures from frames you have around the house or start a scrapbook! I was never a scrapbook person per se. But I got into it this past summer and got a year’s worth of photos printed out and put into a book. I love looking at past memories and I know I will love it even more when I’m much older. This is a perfect activity when you are spending more time indoors.

Have a movie marathon

You could have a theme of particular movies, or just watch a bunch of movies you have been wanting to see. There is a really amazing rental place right here in Portland called Movie Madness. They have TONS of movies and even have cool film memorabilia from movie sets. No wonder they boast to be the greatest independent video store in the world! It is definitely a fun place to take a wander around in, plus I love that they have movies that Redbox or Netflix don’t carry, and they are a local business to boot! :)

Those are some of my favorite ideas for this fall season. What are yours? Enjoy the cooler weather!
