Governor John Kitzhaber declared October 2014 the Oregon Chiropractic Health and Wellness Month. This is absolutely awesome. The points he makes in this document reflect how I, and many health-conscious Oregonians, feel.

- Low Back Pain Management Guidelines recommends spinal manipulation as the only drug-free treatment for back pain

Why Choose Chiropractic?
Conservative care, such as chiropractic, is 20% more cost effective versus traditional medical care. The average medical doctor (MD) will probably prescribe a muscle relaxer and a pain killer. While this may help take some of the “edge” off, it never really fixes the problem. Chiropractic can help find and fix the problem causing the pain. Go to the source of the pain and fix it!
Chiropractic is extremely safe. Your risk of DYING from taking an aspirin alone is more than 25 times greater than risk that chiropractic presents.
If you want to avoid surgeries, come to the chiropractor. If you like having your back or neck cut open and spine fused together, have a visit to the MD. That is a little unfair, but if I had a choice, I would avoid surgery at all cost. I mean, just look at the picture above. Surgery is RISKY!
So the answer is plain and simple. Why choose chiropractic? It is a great solution for neck and back pain. It avoids drugs and surgery. It is safe and effective.

Thank you for explaining that chiropractic care can be more cost effective than traditional medical care. My friend has been wondering if she should go to the chiropractor more often for her pain management. It seems like it could end up being better in the long run.
